Eight people were killed and 30 others injured on Sunday morning in a head-on collision between a Datsun Pick-up and a coach on the National Highway near Ubauro.

The pick-up loaded with a Manak family was going to village Mahesaro from Resaldar locality of Taluka Kandhkot for engagement of a youth when it collided with a coach going to Rawalpindi from Karachi near Marri Chowk Ubauro. As a result, six people were killed on the spot and 32 injured, some of them seriously. The injured were shifted to Rahimyar Khan, Mirpur Mathelo, Ubauro and Ghotki hospitals for treatment.

The two injured later succumbed to their injuries at Rahimyar Khan Hospital. The injured people faced problems at Mirpur Mathelo and Ubauro hospitals due to absence of doctors and medicine shortage.

The people in Ubauro rushed to the hospital for help of the injured. They also closed all shops and business centres over the incident.
