President Pervez Musharraf and caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro have strongly condemned the suicide attack on the peace Jirga at Zargon Khel in Darra Adamkhel on Sunday. They in their separate messages expressed deep sense of shock and grief over the loss of precious human lives and injuries caused by the attack in peace jirga.

President Musharraf termed the attack an attempt to sabotage the peace process, as the members of five clans of Darra Adamkhel had gathered to discuss the restoration of peace in the area.

The President also reiterated the government's resolve and commitment to continue the fight against terrorism and extremism. The President and Prime Minister expressed their sympathies with the families of the victims of this heinous act of terrorism.

They also directed the concerned authorities to ensure provision of best medical care to those injured in the attack. They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families.
