The Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) approved various projects amounting to Rs 1.3 billion relating to promotion of exports in various sectors. The 52nd meeting of the Board of Administrators of EDF was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Commerce and Textile Industry Shahzada Alam Mannoo here on Monday.

These projects including Cleaner Production Centre at Sialkot, R&D Department in FPCCI, establishment of Model Quarry and Rock Mining Training Institute at Buner, Swat, NWFP, Karachi Garment City, National Trade Transport Facilitation Committee and construction of Cargo Complex at Sialkot International Airport.

The Board also approved funds for various research and development studies aiming to enhance country's exports. The Board also reviewed progress of the on-going schemes financed through EDF. The Board considered various proposals received from the trade bodies relating to export.

The meeting was also attended by the higher officials of different ministries including Food and Agriculture, Industries, Textile Industry and President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
