National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) was ordered to make arrangements to fly the close relatives to Rajanpur district to participate in the burial, which should take place after their arrival there.
When NCMC head Brigadier Cheema (Retd) informed the court that only seven close relatives of the deceased could be flown as small plan was available, the two-member bench directed that the other eight relatives might go there by road.
In its order the bench said Abdul Rasheed Ghazi should be buried "Amanatan" (by way of trust) at Rohjan Mazari keeping the option of burial later in Islamabad open.
The bench observed that burial of Ghazi Abdul Rashid in Islamabad was not possible now as it may create some problems. The bench comprising Justice Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi and Justice Faqir Mohammad Khokhar also directed that the burial should be held strictly in accordance with the Islamic traditions.
The court passed the orders while hearing a petition from the deceased's three sisters who requested the bench that they should be allowed to see the face of their brother before the burial.
The court also directed that the local district administration to facilitate the burial rites. The three sisters - Aisha, Jamila and Nabeela - and nephew of Ghazi Abdul Rashid prayed the court for handing over the body of the deceased to the heirs. They also prayed that burial be held in Islamabad according to his will.
It was also prayed in the petition that bodies of the deceased's mother Sahiba Khatoon, son of Maulana Abdul Aziz named Hassan, Atta Mohammad, nephew of Abdul Aziz, and cousins Maulana Abdullah and Maulana Noor Mohammad be handed over to the close relatives. The bench directed Brigadier Cheema to make efforts for identification and whereabouts of the five bodies and inform registrar of the court on Thursday.
The petition also prayed for the release of Tayyeba and Asma, daughters and wife Majida Um-i-Hassan of Maulana Abdul Aziz on parole to participate in the burial. The court directed the National Crisis Management Cell to release the three persons on parole for their participation in the burial.
The court ordered that post-mortem of the bodies recovered from inside the compound of Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid should be done and after that the remains should be handed over to their relatives.
The press should be informed about the injured people, the bench directed and also asked the government to set up an information center in the office of chief commissioner Islamabad for parents and relatives of the dead and injured. The petitioners were assisted by advocate Mussarat Hilali and Sayyed Iftikhar Hussain Gillani and MNA Shah Abdul Aziz.
