Zulfikar Thaver Chief Executive Officer welcomed the new director and said that the company was fortunate to have a person of his calibre and experience, introducing Admiral Arshad he said his vast experience as the managing director of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works and his career in the navy has given him the capabilities of overcoming crisis and handling challenging work.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Col Adeel Kazi, Muslim Abbassi, Haji Muhammed Saeed, Mehmood Ghaffar and Atiqua Vally, they all welcomed Admiral Arshad and promised full support.
Admiral Arshad assured the invitees that he would do his very best for the small and medium sector and devote his time and attention to the cause of the SMEs and help in building the industrial estate to meet the requirements of the SMEs.
He urged the Board of Revenue (BoR) Sindh to convene meeting of the scrutiny committee at an early date and issue allotment letters to enable Smile to commence construction and complete the project in good time. He requested the applicants to submit their feasibility to the company for examination and guidance.
Muslim Abbassi Chairman Chief Ministers Investment Cell (CCMIC) asked the applicants to approach the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) for project guidance and Atiqua Vally assured the SMEs of full support on behalf of Orix Leasing for leasing of plant and equipment.
