It was stated in a statement issued here on Saturday that the day would be observed with pledge that no negligence would be tolerated in rehabilitation of quake survivors as well as reconstruction of quake-hit areas.
Chief Secretaries of four provinces, Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata) were directed to sound siren at 8:49 am on Sunday, while the people would observe one-minute silence at 8:50 am in the memory of those killed in the earthquake. The day would dawn with special prayers at mosques for the full recovery of those, who were disabled during devastated quake.
President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz were scheduled to spend the whole day among the quake-affected people to express their sympathy and hearten them that the entire nation shares their grief.
The President would spend his whole day in Muzaffarabad, Chakoti, Ghari Habib Ullah and Mansehra and would distribute gifts among the children and women. He would also inspect the reconstruction work underway in the quake zone.
The Prime Minister would visit quake-hit areas of Batgram, Dadar and Bagh to express his sympathy to the affected people. Meanwhile, ceremonies would be held in Muzaffarabad and other affected cities, which would be addressed by President and Prime Minister. The Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra) would brief both President and Prime Minister about the rehabilitation and reconstruction in the quake-hit areas.
