The first Pakistan-Malaysia Cultural and Friendship Festival will begin in Multan from August 18 to 20 and a high level delegation of Malaysia comprising Shukri Abdullah, Chairman off MIHAS.

Datu Nakai Haji Ahmed Chairman of Halal, Haji Haroon Abdul Rahim Director General Ministry of Agriculture, Datu Rahim Haji Kachik Chief Executive of Top- Corridore, Datu-Sri Abdul Rehman Maidin, President of Malay Chamber of Commerce, Dr Muhammad Basri Waheed, Director General Palm-Oil Board, Datu Mansoor Saad Secretary General Ministry of Enterpreneurs, Azami Abdullah Deputy Secretary General of Matrade Ministry of External Trade, Datu Anwar Adam, Chairman of Max-Corp builders and state developers, Dr Prum Jit Singh Chairman of Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, Datu Maznah bint Mazlan Minister of state for tourism, heads of Malaysian airlines and a 15 member group of artists would also join the festival.

Briefing the journalists Malaysian Centre Multan's Chief Executive Javed-ur-Rehman, and other members Zia-ur-Rehman, Adnan Khakwani, Dr Hafiz Mushtaq Ahmed, Maamoor Uma and Ijaz-ur-Rehman Ijaz said that this festival was to be held on July 14 in Multan with mango show but it was postponed due to the tragic mishap of Fokker which caused death of 45 people. He said that Malaysian delegation arrived in Pakistan but it confined its activities to Karachi only. The delegation was comprising on Federal Minister for Tourism Datu Sri Tinku Adnan ben Tinku Mansoor, Minister of State for Tourism Datu Maznah bint Mazlan, Deputy Director General Mirza Yahya, Director South Asia Salahuddin Muhammad Arifeen, Consulate General Laang ben Rasheed, and In-charge of Malaysian Airlines (South Asia wing). They offered for departed souls and expressed their grief and sympathy with the bereaved families.

They told the delegations of students, lawyers, scientists, farmers, journalists and traders would be exchanged with Malaysia to get maximum knowledge.
