Violence continued unabated on Saturday with 13 Iraqis killed around the country in a variety of attacks, mostly concentrated around the capital.

Ten more corpses were also discovered in Baghdad, bringing the number of bodies, most showing collected for streamlining the HRMIS.

The data pertains to personal education, training. postings profiles, confidential reports and pay and allowances. This data is constantly updated on the basis of information available with CBR Administration Wing and profiles furnished by the employees.

The personal profiles include educational background of tax officials, courses, training, ACRs, addresses, place of posting, tenure of posting, foreign postings and other relevant information pertaining to posting. The profiles would be used for career planning of tax officials, sources said.

The HRM Wing has decided to send teams to field formations to reconcile data of the HRMIS. Moreover, the new computerised system would be in place to update profiles of officers and staff, and self-service facility would also be given to tax officials to update the profiles.

Sources said that the CBR has finalised management information of its 24,000 employees from Grade 1 to Grade 21, including personal profiles of 1,500 tax officials (Grades 17 to 21) to be used for transfer and postings, eliminating favouritism. It would also guide the tax authorities in taking disciplinary action against delinquent tax officials.

A tax official said that there was no need to maintain data on assets under the HRMIS, as human resource management purely relates to transfer/posting of right person at the right place. Every year, the tax officials submit data pertaining to assets/expenses to the Board, which was confidentially maintained by the department.

On the other hand, tax experts were surprised that the Human Resource Management (HRM) Wing has been engaged in putting in place an information system without incorporating latest data on the assets of the tax officials.
