Water supply lines are being laid at five sites under JICA-funded water supply project to pump 20mgd potable water to the eastern part of the Faisalabad City.

A spokesman of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) said here on Thursday that work had been completed in a well-organised manner to complete its first phase in April 2006.

"Compaction is also being undertaken instantly after laying pipes", he said, adding that it would minimise the citizens' problems. This project would be completed within an estimated cost of Rs 2515 million, he added.
