Adviser to Chief Minister for Law & Human Rights, Rana Ejaz Ahmad Khan assured lawyers that the summary would be moved to the Punjab chief minister for provision of suitable piece of land for setting up Lawyers Residential Colony in Faisalabad.

He was talking to the office-bearers and members of Faisalabad Bar Association, led by President Bar Saleem Jehangir Chatha Advocate in the Bar Room on Friday.

The lawyers proposed a number of places for the said colony, including a piece of state land in the vicinity of Motorway entry point.

The adviser said that the DCO had been directed to formulate a proposal in this regard after due consultation with them.

As soon as DCO's proposal was received, a summary would be moved to the CM and the work on the scheme would be started immediately after the approval.

The adviser said that the government had already approved free treatment of lawyers in government hospitals like the regular government servants.

The bar members demanded provision of separate budget for their treatment in hospitals on which the adviser assured that due consideration would be given to the matter.

Later, the adviser attended a Human Right Seminar held in the Bar Council Hall under arrangement of the National Council of Human Rights.

Among others the seminar was also attended by President Bar Saleem Jehangir Chattha Advocate, MPA Sh Ejaz Ahmad, E D National Council for Human Rights Rao Zafar Iqbal Advocate, Dr Khurram Suhail Raja, Dr Navida Zia, lawyers, journalists and people belonging to different walks of life.

The adviser said that the government had taken a number of steps for quick and easy dispensation of justice and improvement of human rights conditions. He said that the position in this regard had shown a considerable improvement yet there was room for further progress towards the direction.
