Computer software and hardware dealers of Rex City, Satiana Road observed a strike and staged a demonstration against the police raids on their shops and registering cases here on Friday.

They pulled shutters of their shops down and gathered on the main road alleging that they were being harassed at the behest of some international software companies.

They said the police registered false cases against three shopkeepers without any solid proof. When the shopkeepers of Rex City, the biggest computer market of the city, protested over the registration of cases, police booked 100 shopkeepers under 16 MPO.
They allegedly said, the police was treating them like 'terrorists'. Meanwhile, a delegation of shopkeepers met City Police Officers and demanded withdrawal of the cases registered against their colleagues.
