Sindh Home Department issued orders for immediate arrest of personnel of all those private security companies operating in the province without any license.

"All private security companies operating under the license are directed to submit the complete data of their security personnel along with place of posting to the respective Town and District Police Officers by January 3, 2006."

This was stated by the Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui at an emergency press conference at his office here on Friday. He directed the security companies to maintain complete data of their personnel that would be submitted on company's official letter to the respective DPO or TPO.

These measures are being taken after the reports of involvement of private security guards in bank robberies and other serious crimes, he said.

Rauf Siddiqui said it has been observed that the private security agencies have been recruiting the personnel without any criteria on fake identity cards having no details including hometown address or their past record etc.

There should be strict recruitment criteria in place from now on security companies would be restricted to recruit the persons as guards residing only in Sindh province and also after the person gone-through two-week training at the police training centre and submit such certificate," he added.

This condition would not be applicable to retired personnel of armed forces, as their details usually remain available. The police-training centre would charge a prescribed fee from the security companies for such training, he said.

He warned that in case of violation of these instructions the provincial home department would cancel the license of concerned company.
