Pakistan and India will hold two-day technical level talks here on January 5-6 for the resumption of rail link between Khokhrapar (Sindh) and Munabao (Rajasthan).

A ten-member Pakistani delegation, headed by Joint Secretary (Railways) Nasir Zaidi will arrive here on January 4 to hold parleys with the Indian counterparts.

A slew of technical issues including schedule of the train service, date of commencement and fare are expected to be discussed threadbare for the resumption of rail link, senior official at Pakistan High Commission said on Friday.

During the two-day talks, the railway officials of the two countries will discuss ways and means and work out modalities to start train service between two sides.

With another train link, to be commenced between Pakistan and India, preparations are in full swing at the railway station in Barmer district of Rajasthan to meet the deadline, said Indian railway authorities.

In response to a question, PHC official said that third round of composite dialogue between the two sides will be held on January 17 when the Foreign Secretaries meet here.

Pakistanis Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan will meet his Indian counterpart Shyam Saran on January 17 and 18 to hold talks on Kashmir and Peace and Security, including Confidence Building Measures.

To another query, the official said that around ten thousand visas were expected to be given to Indians who would be travelling to Pakistan next month to watch Indo-Pak cricket series including three Test matches and five ODIs.
