This was announced by the PPM Chairman, Muhammad Ashfaq Chaudhry while addressing a press conference here Friday.
He was accompanied by his party's Punjab President Arshad Mahmood Abbasi, Rawalpindi women wing President Shaheen Akhtar and Tanveer Hazarvi. Shamim Butt, a female leader of the PPP also announced to join PPM along with her other female companions on this occasion.
Ashfaq was of the view that after 9/11 when only Muslims were being blamed for terrorism and world was heading towards a war, Musharraf not only played a key role in war against terrorism but also succeeded in presenting Islam as a peaceful religion. By virtue of his sagacious policies, Pervez also forced India to sit across the negotiation table when it was in a mood to impose a war on Pakistan, he added.
He said that similarly, Musharraf also advocated well cases of Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq and Palestine and called for resolution of all these conflicts through talks. His efforts were also recognised and appreciated by the United Nations besides rulers of different countries, Ashfaq added.
