A 50-bed state-of-the-art orthopaedic hospital has begun functioning in Mansehra district. The hospital has been set up by an NGO for providing health facilities to the quake victims, Radio Pakistan reported.

A hospital, established by another non-governmental organisation at the tented village of Banda Sahib Khan of Abbottabad district, has also started providing treatment to the quake stricken people free of cost round-the-clock.

In charge of the hospital said vaccination of children and awareness against the spread of diseases would also be carried out in the tented villages. Besides, psychiatry department has also been established in which services of highly qualified doctors will be provided.

Five other health teams of Afghanistan at Dadar and Battagram are also providing health care to the quake-affected people.
