Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal (MMA) Punjab, President Liaquat Baloch on Thursday said the government has failed to rehabilitate the earthquake victims, and creating different issues to conceal its failure.

While addressing a press conference, Baloch said that army could not provide relief to the victims due to which people started agitating against the army. He further said that MMA has so far collected relief goods worth Rs 1.70 billion for onward distribution to the victims.

Due to severe cold weather conditions, diseases are spreading in the earthquake areas but nobody is there to take care of them. He said the President had not empowered Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz therefore, the opposition parties did not participate in the meetings of parliamentary committee on rehabilitation. 'We are setting up 12 more mobile hospitals in earthquake areas and Islamic community centres in eight district headquarters. He also alleged that Nato and US forces were not meant for relief and rehabilitation activities instead they came to Pakistan to safeguard their strategic interests.
