In an impressive ceremony, Pervez Said, Director Islamic Banking Department of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), presented the License for opening of first Islamic Banking Branch to Prime Commercial Bank Limited at SBP Head Office, Karachi.

According to a press release issued by the Prime Bank here on Thursday, among those present on the occasion were Senior Executives of Prime Bank Syed M Azam Zaidi and Fawad Hashmi.

SBP Joint Director Mahmood Shafqat Mufti was also present.

Prime Bank is the 10th commercial bank in the country that has been granted Islamic Banking License.

Prime Bank would be opening its first Islamic Banking Branch at 61 Main Boulevard, Gulberg, Lahore, which would offer a wide range of 'Shariah' compliant Islamic banking products to its customers in consumer, SME and corporate sectors.

During the year 2006, Prime Bank has planned to add more branches offering Islamic Banking products and services.-PR
