The NWFP government on Thursday launched District Citizens Information Centre at Bacha Khan Chowk, Peshawar to provide important and basic information to the students, teachers, researchers, government officials and general public about all government functionaries, public service facilities etc.

NWFP Senior Minister, Siraj-ul-Haq inaugurated the centre that is established by Essential Institutional Reforms Operational Programme (EIROP).

Tahir Orakzai, Project Director EIROP briefed the minister about the importance of the centre.

He said all information would be provided to the people about needs and implementation of the new local government system.

All facilities, including phone, fax and email have been provided at this centre under the motto of "Be aware and get progress", while people could visit this centre for any kind of information or facilities.

He said all the information of the centre would soon be uploaded at official website of the provincial government while such centres would also be established in all districts of the province and equipped with latest facilities of information technology in the next phase.

The Senior Minister lauded management of EIROP for opening such vital centre for benefiting the citizens and hoped that it would be made more beneficial for people with the passage of time.
