He was talking to a 9-member delegation of nazims of Peshawar, who called on him under the leadership of Nazim, Town - III of Peshawar Engineer Shakirullah Khan at Governor's House.
The governor urged upon them that no doubt the resources did not match to the magnitude of demands, yet they should manage the resolution of grievances of the people in a gradual manner.
Secretary to Governor Arbab Muhammad Arif was also present on the occasion. Whereas amongst the other delegation also included, District member Tahira Bukhari, Nazim UC Palosi Gul Bashar, UC Sufaid Dheri Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, UC Pashtakhara Ijaz Khalil, UC Regi Ataullah, UC Tehkal Atif Khan, UC Sarband Almas Khan Khalil and Nazim of UC Nothia Asfi Baghi.
Responding to various points raised by the delegates, the governor said that the federal and provincial governments were utilising all their resources to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
In this connection, he particularly mentioned the provision of clean drinking water to the people and said that President General Pervez Musharraf was personally taking keen interest in this respect.
Referring to a point regarding the supply of water from the Warsak Dam to ease the drinking water shortage in Peshawar, the governor said that the concerned circles would definitely be looking into its possibility.
He also assured to extend his due help and assistance in the improvement of education facilities in the area.
Referring to the points raised with regard to bring more areas in the gas supply network of the surroundings of Peshawar as well as improvement of electricity facility particularly in Sarband Areas, the governor assured the delegates to contact the concerned quarters to resolve the problems of the respective people.
He also stressed the nazims to play their due role in controlling the line losses of electricity and fully cooperate with the respective officials of Pesco in this connection.
