Most of the shopkeepers of Ghazi have voluntarily removed their encroachments from the public property following the final notice issued by the local Tehsil Municipal Administration.

The operation clean up against the remaining violators would be launched within three days for which an action plan has been chalked out by the TMA, said Tehsil Nazim Ghazi, Aslam Hayat Khan while briefing the District Co-ordination Officer, Haripur, Fayam Hussain Khan in a meeting held at the office of the Tehsil Nazim on Tuesday. The Tehsil Municipal Officer, Sikander Mansoor Shah, Nazims and Naib Nazims of various union councils and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.

The Tehsil Nazim apprised the DCO of the current situation of the ongoing uplift projects, public health and sanitation affairs, anti-encroachment drive, price control and other affairs of the TMA and highlighted the TMA's strategy regarding these affairs.

Referring to the encroachment issue Aslam Hayat told that the clean-up operation to remove encroachments from the TMA's properties would be initiated without any discrimination and everyone who had violated the rules would have to face the music, he added. He said that most of the shopkeepers had removed their encroachments by honouring the notices while others would be dealt strictly under the action plan designed for this purpose.

He said that the newly elected administration of Ghazi was seriously committed to make it a modern city by equipping it with all necessary facilities. He further said that the municipal rules and regulations were strictly followed and LGO-2001 was also consulted for disposing off day to day affairs of the TMA.

He said all staff had been strictly directed to carefully study the rules and follow them in letter and spirit. Appreciating the efficiency and commitment shown by the TMO Sikander Mansoor Shah to run the office affairs in a smooth and efficient manner, Tehsil Nazim said that efforts were being made to equip other officials with the same spirit.
