Customs department has introduced satellite system to connect dryports of the country with each other. Multan dryport would be connected with Karachi, Sambarial, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad from December 5, 2005 and all the dryports and seaports would be interconnected with each other.

Official sources said that Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has introduced this system under customs administration reform (Care) system to end financial irregularities, uniformed customs duty, to check bogus rebate and refund claims etc.

Principal appraiser of Multan Dryport Asghar Durrani, Qazi Afzaal, appraisers Mehmood Ahmed, Abdul Wahid, and Manzoor Ahmed left for Lahore to attain training of new system.
