To give further impetus to bilateral trade between Pakistan and India, the first-ever Indo-Pak Trade Exhibition (IPEX-2005) will be held in Amritsar from December 1 to 4.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will inaugurate the exhibition, while Punjab Minister for Communications and Works Chaudhary Zahiruddin will be the guest of honour on the inaugural day, PHD Chamber of Commerce Chairman and IPEX-2005 convenor R S Sachdeva said in Amritsar on Tuesday.

The exhibition sought to build a conducive platform to promote people-to-people cultural and economic relations between the two countries, he said. The IPEX-2005 will have the participation of more than 170 Indian companies and about 60 Pakistani products would be on display.

The IPEX-2005 will cover all the important sectors of industry including textile, information technology, pharmaceuticals, food processing, agriculture, automobile, consumer goods and infocom.
