The Karachi Port handled 158,359 tonnes of cargo including 135,923 tonnes import and 22,436 tonnes export cargo including 4,461 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.

The cargo comprised of 152,359 tonnes dry cargo including 104,374 tonnes general cargo; 6,424 tonnes sugar; 22,203 tonnes fertiliser; 5,718 tonnes rice; 13,640 tonnes coal and 6,000 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.

Fourteen ships namely Yang Jiang He, Ever Guard, Maersk Alaska, Troy Burg, MT Shalamar, Lalazar, Rifki Bey, Global Progress, Apl Pusan, Rickmers Dubai, Kota Waruna, Entalina, Rainbow Spring and Hui Sheng sailed out to sea during the report period.

Fifteen vessels viz Corinthiakos, Yang Jiang He, AO Noble, Rainbow Spring, Entalina, POS Harmony, Anjum, Apl Pusan, Kota Waruna, Eagle Express, Hyundai Future, Ponl Vera Cruz, Kota Tabah, YM Star and Lisa J are currently at the berths.

Three ships namely Hajer, Ryong Gang and Eagle Express expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship Cosmos Ace is expected to sail on Friday.

Two vessels viz Shintoku and Teen due to arrive on Thursday, while eight ships namely Thor Captain, Csav Morumbi, Sagamore, Iran Baabaei, Wan Hai-306, Pac Antlia, Gul Pride and Bolan are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 95,810 tonnes comprising 77,892 tonnes import and 17,918 tonnes export inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,207 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours ending at 0800 hours on Thursday.

The cargo comprised of 37,894 tonnes diesel oil; 8,682 tonnes chemicals; 4,903 tonnes sugar, 6,812 tonnes coal and 37,519 tonnes containerised cargo.

Two ships namely C P Indigo and Asian Gyro sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship MT Green Park is expected to sail on Thursday.

A total of seven vessels viz Saudi Diriyah, Al-Mirqab, Olympic Galaxy, Minoan, Kang Yang, Entalina and Multan are currently at the outer anchorage.

Three ships namely CV Msc Serena, Al-Mirqab and MT Entalina due to take berths on Thursday.

Five vessels viz CV Saudi Diriyah, MT Shintoku, Docomo, New Toyokze and MV Sports Queen due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship Amasis is due to arrive on Friday.
