Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed advocate general Punjab to produce copy of the minutes of the meeting wherein government had taken decision to impose condition of wearing helmet by the motorcyclists.

The court passed these orders during the course of proceedings in a petition filed by a member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) M D Tahir challenging compulsory wearing of helmet by the motorcyclists.

The petitioner contended the respondent government had taken that decision without any justification, as only a few persons died due to head injuries. He prayed to the court to declare the condition of helmet wearing as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority. He also prayed to the court to set aside the notification issued for wearing helmet.
