According to details, ACLC Superintendent of Police (SP) Saqib Ismail Memon had a got a tip-off that two car-lifting gangs wanted to shift stolen cars and motorcycles from Karachi to various parts of interior Sindh and Balochistan.
He formed a special raid team, headed by ACLC police station SHO Syed Gazanfar Kazmi, which conducted raids at Hab River Road and Superhighway Toll Plaza and arrested the seven accused. They were identified as Mumtaz Khan, Mir Hazar Khan Mari, Farukh Hashmi, Ghulam Nabi, Asif Hussain, Islam alias Javed and Syed Muhammad Waseem.
Nine stolen cars and seven motorcycles from their possession were recovered from their possession besides parts of motorcycles, fake registration number plats, fake registration books and a TT pistol.
The registration numbers of recovered cars are AHH996, H3327, E0346, H0846, ABK581, ABU958, AJC328, AFK011 and AAG368, while the registration numbers of the recovered motorcycles are KBE8346, DGG8299, KCT6483, KAG7276, KAZ2514, KAM7804, and KBC4264. These vehicles were stolen from jurisdictions of Taimoria, Gizri, Kharadar, Preedi, New Karachi Industrial Area, Defence, N Nazimabad, Azizabad, Khuwaja Ajmeer Nagri and ACLC police stations.
