President General Pervez Musharraf has postponed the upcoming 12th General Assembly meeting of Comstech which was scheduled to be held on November 22 to 24 at Islamabad.

The associated events like 24th Meeting of Comstech Executive Committee, OIC Task Force Meeting and International Seminar on Strengthening Science in Africa have also been postponed for the same reasons. The General Assembly Meeting will now be held during 21-23 February 2006.

These events were postponed in the wake of recent catastrophic earthquake that left colossal loss of life and rendered unprecedented number of people homeless and as the harsh winter is rapidly setting in the quake-hit Himalayan region the Government of Pakistan is exhausting all its resources to save thousands of lives before a short window of time closes for merciless winter.

Due to calamitous circumstances the President of Pakistan and Chairman Comstech (OIC Ministerial Standing Committee for Science and Technology) General Pervez Musharraf expressed the hope that entire OIC community would show its support.
