Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday appreciated the contribution of federal ministers to the relief and rehabilitation efforts by involving private sector. He was talking to Federal Ministers Jehangir Tareen, G G Jamal and Ishaq Khan Khakwani, who called on him here at the PM House.

The Prime Minister lauded the efforts of ministers who spent their time with the victims of October 8 earthquake and supervised the relief operation to ensure prompt and timely help to the affected people.

They apprised the Prime Minister about their experiences during their stay in the quake-hit areas. They also informed the Prime Minister they had managed the sponsorship from private sector to construct 20 schools in earthquake affected areas.

One of the schools was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Balakot, which has been constructed with the co-operation of Ali Tareen Farms Lodhran.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the co-ordinated efforts between the federal government, the provincial government and the Pakistan Army for relief operations being carried out in the quake-hit areas.
