A special programme aimed at raising funds for the relief of Pakistan's earthquake victims, which was broadcast on one of Sweden's television channels on Wednesday, raised 41 million kroner (5 million dollar), it was announced on Thursday.

The UN General Assembly President Eliasson, a Swedish national, and UN Under-Secretary-General Jan Egeland, a Norwegian national, participated by the satellite in the programme, the announcement said.
