It aims at expressing its solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of recent devastating earthquake that hit various parts of the country. APPCED President, Meyong Sook will lead the delegation.
The joint parliamentary delegation of APPCED will call on Chairman Senate Mohammedmain Soormo and hold in-depth discussions with the Secretary General of APPCED, Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry and Vice President of APPCED, Senator Muhammad Amjad Abbas.
The delegation is likely to pay a visit to earthquake hit areas of Muzaffarabad where a field briefing on the relief and rehabilitation activities being undertaken by the government will be given to the visiting team.
During its visit to Muzaffarabad, the joint parliamentary delegation is likely to have meetings with the President and the Prime Minister of And Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation, during its stay in Pakistan will hold a meeting with the National relief Commissioner. A meeting of joint parliamentary delegation with the Preparation Committee of the Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Conference on Environment and Development (APPCED) has also been planned.
