The 128th birth Anniversary of the Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal was celebrated with traditional zeal here on Wednesday like other parts of the country.

Different social, cultural, literary and educational organisations arranged seminars, symposia and special meetings, where the speakers highlighted the role of Allama Iqbal for Pakistan Movement.

They paid glowing tributes to great poet and scholar who envisioned a separate country for the Muslims of the sub-continent.

In connection with Iqbal Day, a ceremony was held at Cadet College Petaro, where the Chairman, Mass communication Department of University Dr Tahir Masood was the guest speakers who highlighted the role of Allama Iqbal during Pakistan Movement.

The Principal Cadet College Petaro Commodore Muhammad Abid Saleem, Professor Javed Ahmed Khan and Professor Inayat Khan also spoke on the occasion paid tributes to great poet and scholar.
