The Punjab government will start implementation on "Support a Family" project from December to support the victims of the devastating earthquake, said Shahzad Bhatti, PML leader and former MPA here on Wednesday.

Talking to victims of the earthquake in the relief camps located in Sports Complex Liaqat Bagh, the ruling party leader said that this programme would help end all the miseries and hardships affected people were facing.

He said the government had played a leading role in providing helping hand to the earthquake victims, arrived here from Azad Kashmir and Hazarar division of the NWFP.

The government had sent huge relief items, food, clothes, tents and blankets in the affected areas, adding efforts would continue for the rehabilitation of the earthquake survivors in the days to come.

He said all the relief and rehabilitation activities were directly being monitored by Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi. He informed the earthquake survivors that special arrangements were being made for establishment of schools for their children.

He said the government was well aware of the importance of the education and schools would be set up to save the future of children.

He visited every tent pitched in the relief camp along side the Nullah Lai and asked the victims about the food and other supplies they were being provided by different NGOs and philanthropists of the area.
