Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (Piaf) has urged the government to consult with private sector while devising schedule of holidays so as to avoid stoppage of work in the country for the entire week.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Piaf Chairman, Muhammad Ali Mian observed that continuity in the industrial process was a must to check the damages of earthquake devastation.

He observed that respect of national heroes or figures could only be increased by following their footsteps instead of observing holidays.

Muhammad Ali Mian said that earthquake razed to ground cities and villages spread over thousands of square km, killing and injuring hundreds of thousands. He claimed that it also rendered some four million people jobless. He was of the view that it was time to work day and night to overcome the setback.

After four Eid holidays, nation was again observing holiday on November 09, which would result in suspension of industrial process, he added.
