The District Nazim decided it while presiding over a review meeting regarding cleanliness drive here at his office on Monday evening.
Taluka Nazim Hyderabad City Javed Jabbar, Taluka Nazim Latifabad Sabir Kaimkhani, District Co-ordination Officer Muhammad Hussain Syed, District Police Officer Hyderabad Ali Ahmed Junejo and other officers attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the District Nazim said that frequent use of polyethylene bags without its proper disposal was not only creating health hazards for the citizens but also choking the sewerage/drain lines resulting over flow of filthy water on the roads and streets.
He said that this carelessness had also posed threat to the newly constructed roads and other infrastructures. He said that in order to ensure sustainability in the development works and cleanliness, the smooth sewerage flow was very much essential in the city, as such the people must not only avoid the use of polyethylene bags but also discourage its marketing in the district.
He said that this step had been decided in the interest of people who are supposed to extend their support and make it success.
