The Lahore High Court (LHC) has admitted a petition for regular hearing challenging imposition of service charges on sale of tractors.

The petitioner, Mudai Ahmed contended that every buyer of tractor is required to pay Rs 19,000 as service charges, which is against the declared policy of the government. He contended that levy of service charges imposed by the respondent tractor dealers is illegal and without lawful authority.

He therefore, prayed to the court to declare the service charges as illegal, unconstitutional and imposed without lawful authority.

The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, admitted the petition for regular hearing and issued notices to the respondents.
