Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Yasin Malik has urged upon India and Pakistan to concentrate on solution of Kashmir issue after taking a number of confidence building measures.

In an interview to a private television channel, Yasin said people of Kashmir would loose patience if there was no progress towards solution of the dispute.

There are certain elements, who wanted to destabilise Indo-Pak peace process, he said adding that some progress towards final solution of Kashmir dispute was imperative to discourage such elements.

He said it was not possible for India and Pakistan to reach a decision on Kashmir without including Kashmiris' consent. Rather it is in national interest of both the countries to take the Kashmiris in confidence, he added.

To a question, he said, all factions of APHC have a unanimous stand as far as issue of Kashmir is concerned, adding, however, to determine the real representative of the people referendum can be held.

He said those involved in people-to-people contacts from both sides could administer and monitor such referendum if the Indians are not ready to accept UN role in this regard.

To another question, he said the opening of five points on LoC was a positive development but it would have been much better if Kashmiri's had been allowed to visit the doorsteps of their relatives on both sides at this crucial time.

He said most of the people on both the sides of LoC were injured and it would not be possible for them to approach the fixed points to see their visitors from the other side.
