In this connection, Provincial Secretary Education has issued a circular to all Executive District Officers (Education) to submit the names of volunteer teachers, who would be deputed in the tent villages in Muzaffarabad, Bagh Rawlakot and Neelum Valley, districts of quake-hit Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Executive District Officer (Education) Muhammad Aslam Javed stated this while talking to reporters here on Sunday. He said that in addition of regular pay and allowances, free food and boarding facility along with extra benefits would also be provided to the volunteers.
EDO said that he had circulated these instructions of the provincial government to all schools situated in Rawalpindi district for submission the names of volunteer teachers for the purpose.
He said that a survey was being conducted by the Education Department in district Rawalpindi to estimate the entire loss of school buildings occurred by the earthquake.
Javed said that six committees were constituted to collect the exact figure of the affected schools, and how much funds would be required to repair the structures in Rawalpindi district.
"Over hundred schools have been reported so far whose buildings were damaged", he added.
"The numbers of estimate committees would be enhanced to carry out the task as quickly as possible. For this purpose a high level meeting with the high ups of the building department would be held on November 10", he added.
He said that the most of the school were damaged due to calamity were in the tehils of Murree Kahuta and Kotli Satiyan. He said that during the repair of these schools some alternative arrangements were under consideration in the education department.
"Either we will take buildings on rent or start double shift systems in the schools, whose building had no harm during the earthquake", he added.
