Prince Ahmed, who is here as a special representative of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, said Saudi Arabia will stand by Pakistan during its hour of trial.
"We are here to express our feeling and sharing the suffering the quake-hit people have gone through and will do our best to help Pakistan," he said.
Prime Minister Aziz told the Saudi Prince that the tragedy befallen the people of Pakistan on October 8 was catastrophic in magnitude.
"It has posed some major challenges with regards to reconstruction and rehabilitation," he added.
The visit of the Saudi Prince in these trying times was a source of strength for Pakistan, he added.
The Saudi Prince said that the entire Saudi leadership was with the people of Pakistan and fully shares their grief.
The Saudi Minister was accompanied by the Minister for Health, Dr Hamad Al-Manae, Minister for Social Welfare Dr Abdul Mohsin Al-Akas, Deputy Speaker of the Majlis-e-Shoor Eng. Mohammad Taiba and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.
Later, talking to reporters, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Muslum Ummah and Saudi Arabia for extending support to Pakistan in this hour of need.
He said Nato and other friendly countries were also helping Pakistan and contributing to the relief and reconstruction efforts.
The Prime Minister said besides financial assistance, Saudi Arabia has provided field hospital, tents, blankets and other relief goods to help the affected people.
He said on the request of the Pakistan government, Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz arranged airlifting of the tents to Pakistan, donated by the expatriates Pakistanis and Saudi people
The Saudi Kingdom has assured full support in the crucial phase of reconstruction and rehabilitation, he added.
Shaukat Aziz said Pakistan was very keen to open crossing points along the LoC to facilitate Kahmiris, living on both sides, to help each other in reconstruction and relief.
