Governor Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that the provincial government is holding inquiry into reported carelessness with regard to treatment of patients injured in quake, so that the action could be taken against the persons responsible.

He was talking to the newsmen on Eid-ul-Fitr during a visit to the civil hospital after offering prayers at Old Polo Ground, Karachi.

Governor Ibad said a number of injured from quake-hit areas, were under treatment in Karachi, who need full attention for their recovery.

He also distributed gifts and bouquets among the injured and other patients at the hospital.

Governor Ibad said that the earthquake had brought devastation, which was a national tragedy due to which the whole nation observed the Eid with simplicity and instead of spending lavishly on traditional festivities, the people made generous donations to help their brethren.

To a question, he appreciated the private hospitals, who also took active part in helping the quake victims.

To another query, Governor said that Sindh government had not allocated any specific funds for the treatment of quake victims However, it was spending a lot in this regard.

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman and other officials accompanied the governor.
