Leader of the opposition in AJK Legislative Assembly Barrister Sultan Mehmood has suggested that shelters with roof made of tin should be provided to earthquake affected people to protect them from chilly winter.

In a statement issued here on Sunday he said tin and cash should be given to the affected people to construct temporary shelters before their complete rehabilitation.

He said he has sent the proposal to the Federal Relief Commissioner Major General Farooq Khan and head of National Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority Lieutenant General Muhammad Zubair.

Barrister Sultan Mehmood said that Chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills Lieutenant General Abdul Qayum (Retd) has assured him of supply of tin sheets for the construction of temporary houses.

He urged overseas Kashmiris and foreign donor agencies to donate generously for relief and rehabilitation of quake-stricken people.
