In order to draw the world's attention to the absolute critical need for assistance to quake victims before winter sets in, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan will reach Pakistan on November 17 to attend the world conference called by President Musharraf.

UN spokesman confirmed in a note released on Sunday.

He will visit areas struck by the October 8 earthquake, and is also expected to address the major conference on Pakistan's needs for post-quake rehabilitation.
