The basis out of Lincoln, Nebraska, was 2 cents a bushel firmer on Wednesday morning, but otherwise locations were reporting no change in basis bids.
Meanwhile, protein premiums for railcar wheat to and through Kansas City were in retreat, with declines of a penny a bushel posted for 12.60-14.00 percent protein wheat supplies.
Farmers were mostly described as reluctant sellers as they remained largely focused on wrapping up fall harvesting activities and fieldwork for new crop wheat.
In export news, traders were chattering about an expected reduction in a planned purchase by Iraq for 1 million tonnes of US wheat.
Iraq has said last month that it was making the 1 million-tonne purchase but an official with the Iraqi Grain Board was quoted Wednesday as saying US problems in fulfilling that deal could cut the purchase by 200,000 to 300,000 tonnes.
In other export news, South Korea's Daehan Flour Mills Co Ltd has bought 20,000 tonnes of US No 1 wheat from Cargill, traders in Seoul said on Wednesday.
