Additional Superintendent of Police concerned will be responsible for any failure to check kite flying within the area of his jurisdiction, especially during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

Capital City Police Officer, DIG Tariq Saleem Dogar told APP here on Tuesday that senior superintendent of police and all ASPs posted in Model Town, Cantonment, Sadar and City divisions had been directed to ensure implementation of the ban imposed by the apex court on kite flying, its sale, manufacture and marketing.

He said the IGP Punjab, Ziaul Hassan Khan taken serious note of reported incidents of kite flying in some of the city areas and directed to launch a crackdown against persons violating the restrictions.

The CCPO has constituted 76 mobile police teams, one at each police station level, to check kite flying.

All police officials, including ASPs, DSPs and SHOs in the operations wing in the provincial metropolis have been directed to implement the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
