Public complaints over low supplies of CNG and delays in filling CNG cylinders fitted in vehicles are rising in the city. CNG users also complain time consumed for getting a cylinder refill is too much at all petrol pumps where CNG is also sold.

The rush for CNG is also very extensive during closing hours of fasting in the city. As a result, motorists have to wait in long queues at petrol pumps for their turn in getting CNG refill.

At several CNG pumps, the pressure often goes low with the result that cylinders cannot be filled and motorists have to switch over to petrol.

In some cases, it is alleged, petrol pumps selling CNG also purposely have low pressure in CNG supply, so that, vehicle owners go for petrol. This is because petrol sales have dropped at many petrol pumps where CNG is also being sold.

Long lines of vehicles wanting CNG refilling is so much at many petrol pumps that even regular petrol seeking customers find it difficult to get space for filling up their vehicles with petrol.

The number of vehicles using CNG is rising very rapidly due to high cost of petrol. Existing facilities for sale of CNG at petrol pumps are not enough as compared to the demand.

Secondly, filling of CNG in cylinders takes much longer than filling up fuel tanks with petrol. As a result, many petrol pumps are planning to have more stands for sale of CNG.

It has also been observed vehicles plying on inter-district service have very large CNG cylinders to fill up at the petrol pumps and these also cause inordinate delays.

Many harassed CNG users appealed authorities to enforce rules whereby filling up process of CNG in cylinders is faster than at present.
