In Battagram, 11,000 tents and over 30,000 blankets have been distributed among the quake victims. Relief goods have also been airlifted to the remote areas of Allai and Palas valley of Kohistan by army helicopters which flew 380 sorties for the task.
Army aviation helicopters carried out 53 sorties to different parts of Battagram, Kaghan, Jared and Balakot areas. They evacuated more than 500 injured, including children, women and aged persons and shifted them to various hospitals.
The Pakistan Army was also mobilising resources to reopen roads at Kaghan, Paras and Kawai areas to step up relief activities in inaccessible areas.
The Army has set up 15 forward bases in Kaghan Valley to provide relief assistance to the far-flung areas. Four tentage villages have also been set up in hilly areas of Mansehra district.
In Azad Kashmir, the Pakistan Army has set up two new relief camps at Chaliana and Chakothi, while 51 tones of relief goods were taken to Neelum and Jehlum valleys through 70 sorties.
Relief goods, transported by 44 trucks, were also distributed among the quake-stricken in Muzaffarabad area.
