General Motors Corp said on Monday it will maintain its dividend for the fourth quarter, despite a deepening financial crisis at the world's largest automaker.

GM said it will pay a fourth-quarter dividend of 50 cents per share to stockholders, a quarterly payout it has maintained since the first quarter of 1997, when it raised the amount from 40 cents per share.
