Talking to APP here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Ghulam Bashir Mughal said large number of Kashmiris were extending every help to their Kashmiri brethren to quake hit areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He said they were sending relief material to the quake survivors and pledged to continue support for their early rehabilitation besides donating to the relief funds.
He said over four hundred trucks carrying relief items have been dispatched so far to quake-affected areas for earthquake survivors.
Prominent philanthropist Haji Rasib of Chakswari is leaving for Muzaffarabad with 2000 tents for distribution among the homeless people, the DC disclosed.
While, he said some philanthropists of Mirpur district have already donated Rs 20 million to the President Relief Fund for quake victims.
He lauded the role of media persons who relentlessly highlighting the issue before the world community.
Earlier, addressing news conference Ghulam Bashir Mughal said the AJK government had started delivering preliminary relief donations to the quake victims in affected areas to meet their immediate requirements of life.
He said the extension of relief by administration in co-operation with various local social welfare organisations and philanthropists was in full swing. He added the government was determined to take all possible steps for their early rehabilitation.
He also lauded the role of Pakistan army, government agencies and various countries in extending generous relief besides taking practical part in the quake-hit areas.
