According to well-placed sources, the NAs administration has made all the necessary arrangements to keep people indoor in the capital city at least on Eid-day and probably curfew would be for more than one-day to avert chances of any untoward incidence.
It is also learnt people will not be allowed to even offer Eid prayers at open places to mark the sacred religious event.
The step is being taken in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation after the bloody clash between law enforcement agencies and few students on October 13, which led to killing of more than a dozens people in the city.
Except few miscreants, the entire population of the areas is fed up from curfew, strike and unrest, which have made routine life miserable.
People are compelled to think that despite passage of one year, the federal government which is directly responsible for handling the NAs administrative affairs has totally failed to evolve a long term plan for settling the issue once for all, which really disrupted the normal lives in the area.
Law enforcement agencies including Army, NAs Police, rangers, Gilgit Scouts and Frontier Constabulary have been deployed in large number and millions of rupees are being spent on them daily. Kashmir and NAs affairs ministry has also transferred a number of bureaucrats, which has not made any difference except changing of faces.
The area solely depends on seasonal trading and other economic activities due to its specific weather conditions, and other geographical compulsion has badly affected due to uncertain circumstances round the year.
Besides economic life, other sectors were also affected and educational institutions often remain closed during the year.
