Dr Naseem A Khan, Member, Technical/ Secretary, AEDB, said that the government had not provided the board with any funding at all for power projects, but did not deny allocation of financial resources for running day-to-day business.
"AEDB can be accused of attracting maximum private investment, something which other organisations have not been able to do so," Naeem said.
He said that the accusations made by PPIB were not acceptable and needed to be corrected to present the proper image of an internationally reputable organisation of the country.
He said that AEDB, too, has been facing problems such as shortage of professional manpower to meet the immense workload and expectations of the stakeholders involved, but has not let this factor impede its progress when it came to delivering the desired results.
"The board (AEDB) has so far issued LoIs to 28 private investors for generation of 50 MW each through wind energy. It needs to be realised that such investment could not have been attracted without AEDB's dedicated and untiring efforts," he added.
It may be mentioned here that PPIB, in one of its report said that GoP has provided sufficient finances to an institution similar to PPIB which is handling renewable energy projects, but resources were denied to this organisation.
