The faithful headed to the mosques in large numbers for nightlong worship after dining at the end of 26th day of fasting as the holy month of Ramazan moved towards its close on Monday.

The eve which heralds the 27th day of fasting in the holy month is most revered and spent in worship in mosques as well as homes.

Prominent mosques of the city viz Jama Masjid Arambagh, Memon Masjid Boulton Market, Jama Masjid Kharadar, Jama Masjid Gulzar-e-Habib, Soldier Bazar, Jama Masjid Baitul Mukarram, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jama Masjid Tooba and Sultan Masjid Defence Housing Society, Jama Masjid Abu Bakr Clifton besides hundreds of other masjid drew large number of faithful who engaged themselves in devoted worship as Mahafil-e-Shabina proceeded.

At scores of mosques, people made arrangements for reciting Hamds and Naats in addition to individual worship and recitation of the Holy Quran. People also made arrangement for worship at many open spaces and marriage halls.

Prayers were also held for solace to the deceased victims of recent earthquake in northern parts of the country and Azad Kashmir, early recovery of those injured and rehabilitation of those displaced and rendered homeless and for the country's safety, prosperity and development.
