Ahead of Indo-Pak talks to be held on Saturday in Islamabad on opening of Line of Control (LoC), Hurriyat Conference on Friday called for "erasing" the line dividing Kashmir.

Expressing that it would help find a permanent resolution of the issue, Chairman of a faction of Hurriyat Mirwaiz Umer Farooq called for completely erasing this line, which has been drawn on the hearts and sentiments of the people of Kashmir.

The move would help in seeking lasting resolution to the Kashmir dispute, the Mirwaiz told the Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in occupied Srinagar, "It is ironic that when the world is changing into global village, Kashmiris across the LoC have been kept away from each other."

"The Indian Prime minister told me that he would create conditions that one should not be able to feel the difference of being in Srinagar or Muzaffarabad. I want to tell Singh that it is time to act", he added, according to a news report received here.

In an apparent reference to hectic political activity regarding change of guard in the occupied Kashmir, Mirwaiz said it is "unfortunate" that while people of the state were suffering from the severe effects of earthquake, some politicians in the state were busy saving their chair or trying to grab it.
